| 2. Environmental improvements Work was completed in 2007 to close Far Gosford Street to westbound traffic, which was re-routed onto the adjoining Sky Blue Way. This meant that footpaths could be widened, an events square created at the top of the street and more on-street parking and loading bays provided. Smaller scale environmental improvements will continuing when opportunities arise, in consultation with the Business Forum e.g. CCTV, cleansing, lighting, car parking and temporary improvements to vacant sites awaiting development. |
| 3. New developments The masterplan shows where new developments and major property refurbishments could go over the next 10 years. The following new developments are in the pipeline: |
| i) Scala offices A 5,000 square foot creative office development at the entrance to the main Far Gosford Street car park. The building, named after the former Scala cinema (later the Odean) located on the same site, will set the standard for other new buildings in the area. Occupying businesses could be those expanding from the Far Gosford Street Business Hub or other incubator space in Coventry. |
| ii) New housing to the rear of the Hand & Heart A planning application has been approved for 31 housing units arranged in 'courts', reflecting the original layout of properties coming off Far Gosford Street. This development is not viable in the current economic climate and awaits an upturn in the housing market. |
| iii) Gosford Gate The city centre end will be anchored by an iconic landmark building for occupation by one or two high profile national businesses, prominently located between the Coventry ring road, the main A4600 that links the city centre to M6 Junction 1 and the main entrance to Far Gosford Street. This will involve remodelling the Sky Blue Way roundabout and reducing the number of exits from five to four. |

| iv) Sky Blue Way Two new small scale office developments are planned fronting Sky Blue Way on surplus highway and backland areas. These will respect the historic buildings fronting Far Gosford Street and the old and new buildings will both be serviced by a shared courtyard to replace the existing service roads and remnants of rear gardens. These developments will improve the image of the area from Sky Blue Way. |

We are a not-for-profit company and registered charity. We work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally within a unique methodology which has its roots in the creativity of people with learning disabilities and has been developed by us. Our prime aim has been artistic excellence rather than any therapeutic outcomes. However, we are also increasingly aware of the role our methodology can play in helping children and adults with autism and other learning disabilities to not only achieve their full potential as human beings but also to express themselves creatively. Four core interlinked strands of the organisation’s activity are now clearly delineated, each underpinned by the shyster methodology: theshysters.theatrecompany is an ensemble of actors (currently 8) with l
